I was wondering if there would be any changes in the scholarship application deadline due to COVID-19. Since school closures extend until mid-April, I am uncertain if our counselors would be able to mail the official transcripts of myself, as well as that of other students in my school, to the Kiwanis Club of Lehigh Acres before the due date on the 31st of March.

Yes, The application deadline has been extended. We are of the difficulties and ask that the information be sent as soon as possible. An application can be sent in incomplete (missing transcripts) but those transcripts need to be submitted as soon as possible once available. We will be working with school counselors also.

I was wondering if it is too late to apply for the scholarship. Someone told me that the application due date has been extended to May. Is that correct? Also do we mail the application to the address in the application?

Can I still submit my application? Or is it too late ?
We extended our application deadline to May 18th (7 weeks) due to the coronavirus situation. The scholarship committee has already met to determine the scholarship funds distribution. You can send in the application as a late submission but its review is doubtful. You can reapply next year for sure.
Do you offer scholarships for adults?
We get very few requests from Adults for scholarships. We have approved a few in the past several years. Our application process is geared primarily for graduating seniors from High School students. The timing is a little off for this round of scholarships. This year was different due to the school closures and Covid 19 virus. Our normal schedule (deadline) for accepting scholarship applications is March 31st. (we extended that tp May 18th this year) The applications are evaluated by a committee and awards are processed late May.
