Over 165 guests packed the room at the Eunique Events Hall on Saturday night for the Kiwanis Club of Lehigh Acres Annual Scholarship & Community Awards Banquet.
This fall the Kiwanis club of Lehigh Acres will have 62 students enrolled in colleges and universities all across this great nation of ours.

This fall the Kiwanis Club of Lehigh Acres will have 51 students enrolled in colleges and universities all across this great nation of ours.
They have been awarded and will be receiving $156,950 in Lehigh Acres Kiwanis Club Foundation scholarships.
This year alone Lehigh Acres Kiwanis Club Foundation will be awarding 16 brand new scholarships to Lehigh Acres residents, while renewing 17 previous recipients, while still having 18 continuing students. Continue reading

This fall the Kiwanis Club of Lehigh Acres will have awarded 58 scholarships to students who will be attending colleges and universities all across the United States. The awards totaled $156,450.00 and range from one year to four years in duration, according to Rick Anglickis chairman of the scholarship committee for the Kiwanis club.
At a special community awards banquet the Kiwanis Club of Lehigh Acres recognized six Lehigh Acres residents as Home Town Heroes for 2013. Over 120 guests shared the excitement at faith Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall as the names were announced. Special guest presenters each bestowed accolades upon the recipients.
They included Deputy Stephen Cart of the Lee County Sheriff’s office. Deputy Cart serves as the Lehigh Community Policing Officer who most recently oversaw the cleanup of vacant property at which vagrants were causing a public nuisance adjacent to a childcare center.
At five different elementary school award programs the Kiwanis Club of Lehigh Acres recognized ten students for outstanding community service for 2013. Parents, family, and guests shared the excitement at each school as the names were announced. Special Kiwanis guest presenters bestowed certificates and scholarship medals to each of the recipients.

The Kiwanis Club of Lehigh Acres recently presented checks totaling $21,575.00. Some of the recipients included Lee County Volunteers In Medicine who received $2500.00, Florida Coast University received $5,000.00, ECHO received $2,500.00, Riverdale High School got $1,000.00, and $5,950.00 was given to several local teachers as special Honorariums.
